My Next.js + Laravel learning project
Hi, I'm Huzaifa Farooq. I am a Laravel developer and my aim is to become skilled in Next.js while still using Laravel for the backend.
My aim
I already know Laravel well. I want to learn Next.js properly and use both together: Next.js for everything the user sees (the frontend) and Laravel with MySQL for the data and logic (the backend).
My roadmap
- Days 1 to 15: learn the Next.js and React basics (components, state, routing, API routes) and compare each one with what I know in Laravel.
- Next step: rebuild a small Laravel feature that I already made, this time with Next.js.
- Current task: build login, signup and one CRUD module (user management) from start to finish.
Current task: login, signup and user management
The first plan was to build everything in Next.js with Supabase. I changed it: Laravel and MySQL are the backend, and Next.js is only the frontend.
- Sign up and log in (Laravel checks the password and gives back a token)
- A dashboard page that only logged-in users can open
- User management for admins: list, add, edit and delete users
